Under Contract

So, it is paperwork official!

Last night we signed a contract on the house. We originally got the offer on Valentine’s Day, but we spent a bit of time going back and forth and both sides are happy with the numbers. 🙂

We are currently in option period where the buyer can back out, but they have their inspection set for tomorrow morning and then after the inspection, they will probably clear option allowing the financing paperwork to begin. Assuming they don’t find anything with the inspection they don’t like.

So, basically, as of right now, we are scheduled to close on the house on March 22 which is a measly 30 days away. Even though we mildly expected it knowing that our house is a lot better than the other houses in the area (kitchen and entry-way wise), we are still in shock over the quickness. We were only on the market for 35 days. I guess all the prep work Lorna and I did after Christmas helped.

We were going to travel through California to visit family on our way up to Seattle, but with having the cats with us and me being almost 30 weeks (I will actually be 29 weeks 3 days when we close which is where we were at when we lost Pixel), we have decided that if the weather cooperates, we will probably just straight shot it up to Idaho. We are going to leave the cats with Lorna while we find a place in Seattle. We are sad we won’t get to see a bunch of family, but we will make a road trip after baby is here to travel down the west coast to see family. We haven’t decided when, but it is in our plans.

So, anxiousness and awe are a big thing in our emotions right now as we start focusing on the next stage of our journey. I have a lot to do before March 22 and there isn’t much time to do it overall. I’m glad that we have our doctors appointments all scheduled before then though. It is easier than having to have them reschedule the days and then get all of our records.

*breathe* is a mantra I keep repeating to myself. These next 4 weeks will fly by.

25 Weeks

Week 25

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 25 weeks

Baby’s size: Rutabega – Your baby rivals the average rutabaga in weight – about 1.5 pounds. (Length: 13.5 inches head to heel)

Sleep: Good and bad. Some nights I have been sleeping through the night and some I have just been to preoccupied to sleep soundly. This will probably go on for the next several weeks unfortunately.

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Loving the stretchy pants!

Food Cravings: No specific cravings this week.

Food Aversions: I am starting to be able to eat some spicy things, but it is still hit or miss.

Symptoms I have: Backaches due to baby kicking. And I have had an immense amount of pelvic pain. The OB says that it is just my pelvis realigning and loosening up. It hurts until I get into a specific position and then I can usually make it go away for awhile. 🙁

Doctor’s Appointment: 2 weeks – Midwife on 3/4

Movement: I get to feel Sprout on a regular basis now. I usually feel kicks after I eat and when I am sitting around. If I have been active for the day, then I realize I haven’t felt baby and try to sit around until I do.

Belly Button: Still an innie.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Getting to 30 weeks. 5 weeks to go! And being able to finally share some other news in our lives.

What I miss: Comfortable cuddling and hugging. It is getting to the point where my belly is just getting in my way and it is a little harder to cuddle with Darrell. I can’t even imagine how it will be when I get even bigger. =O

24 Weeks

Week 24

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 24 weeks – Viability!!!

Baby’s size: Ear of Corn – Your baby has caught up with an ear of corn in size and gained about 1/4 pound since last week. (Length: almost a foot.)

Sleep: Been rough. I can’t seem to find a comfortable position and when I do get some sleep I am always woken up so I can go to the bathroom. I have been stretching it out to about 10 hours from the time I go to bed to the time I get up. Hopefully within that I am at least getting 8 hours.

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Loving the stretchy pants!

Food Cravings: I am still craving sweets, but I have been trying to avoid to many of them since my weight is starting to get up there. Not in a concerning way, since I am pretty much right on target with my first pregnancy.

Food Aversions: Still no spicy. 🙁

Symptoms I have: Exhausted all the time. And I have been having lots of backaches. (Baby likes kicking towards the back). I have also been having small Braxton Hicks contractions and my pelvic bone is either loosening up or the baby is kicking/punching the cervix because it hurts!

Doctor’s Appointment: 3 weeks – Midwife on 3/4

Movement: Definitely feeling Sprout. See symptoms 🙂

Belly Button: Innie, barely. Darrell laughs that he can see the bottom of it without having to actually try.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Getting to 30 weeks. 6 weeks to go!

What I miss: Lately I have really been missing the ability to have a worry-free pregnancy. Especially once you hit viability.

23 Weeks

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 23 weeks

Baby’s size: Mango – Your baby weighs about as much as a large mango — just over a pound. (Length: more than 11 inches) – Granted our baby is weighing in on the slightly bigger and longer as per our u/s last week.

Sleep: It’s been consistent this week which is nice.

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Loving the stretchy pants!

Food Cravings: I have been smelling cake batter everywhere I go. I don’t want the cake, just the batter. I’m working on trying to avoid eating a bunch of sweets though.

Food Aversions: Still no spicy. 🙁

Symptoms I have: My acne has finally started to go away and the heartburn is only occasional.

Doctor’s Appointment: OB on 2/12

Movement: I am starting to feel Sprout a lot more than before. There are kicks and jabs. Baby particularly likes my back.

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Next Tuesday when we reach the Viability milestone. Then after that, our next milestone is 30 weeks. *sigh* takes too damn long.

What I miss: Nada!

* Funny side story – Darrell was talking to people after our ultrasound last week and was telling them it was our 28 week ultrasound when it was our 22 week ultrasound. I felt so bad having to tell him that he was 6 weeks ahead and thus still had 18 weeks to go instead of the 12 he was thinking about. Poor D!

22 Weeks

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 22 weeks

Baby’s size: Spaghetti Squash – Your baby has stretched to the size of a spaghetti squash and weighs almost a pound. (Length: nearly 11 inches.)

Sleep: Really good this week. I think I am making up for last week. 🙂

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Loving the stretchy pants!

Food Cravings: None this week. I had a couple sides at the Burns supper on Saturday that made me crave them a little bit, but I just made sure to eat two servings of them and it helped.

Food Aversions: I still cannot handle spicy. I miss having my chips and salsa, but I am glad that I don’t have the sweet aversion anymore.

Symptoms I have: Heartburn galore! And the never ending acne.

Doctor’s Appointment: MFM tomorrow!; Midwife on 2/4; and OB on 2/12

Movement: Every day at least once a day I get about 5 minutes of kicking and rolling. It is never the same time of day, but I do feel Sprout at least once a day.

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Seeing Sprout tomorrow and making sure everything is still ok.

What I miss: Nothing this week.
