So, I posted a while ago about our trip from Texas to Seattle here. These are some photos to go along with that post. šŸ™‚

Day 1 – March 22 – Stayed in Abilene, TX after not getting enough sleep to hit the road safely.

Both cats were unsure of what exactly was going on. Poleeko stayed under the blankets the whole first night and Zedd came out, but needed to be near someone at all times. Darrell got to cuddle with him. šŸ™‚

Day 2 – March 23 – Drove from Abilene, TX to Farmington, NM

The cats weren’t sure about having to stay in their carrier, but they weren’t yowling which was great. We found out that if we left them uncovered, they would yowl, so we took our blanket and covered the cage only looking in occasionally to make sure they were ok.

Duststorm

On the left is the duststorms we had to drive through from just West of Lubbock all the way through Monroe, NM. After Monroe, the dust wasn’t all around, but the wind was still at a hefty speed which made us have to take it slow. On the right is Zedd needing more cuddles after a 12 hour drive in his carrier. I think he just wanted to make sure he was still loved. šŸ™‚

Day 3 – March 24 – Drove from Farmington, NM to Idaho Falls, ID

All we took were a bunch of scenic photos. We drove through a section of Colorado, then crossed through Utah stopping to have dinner with my sister and her boyfriend in Orem, UT and ended up in Idaho for the night. The first photo is of Darrell trying to find Poleeko who crawled under the bed.

Day 4 – March 25 – Idaho Falls, ID to Sandpoint, ID

Today we had our first frost on the window when we left the hotel. Because of the way Idaho is shaped, we crossed into Montana and then back into Idaho. It was our shortest trip at only about 9 hours of driving.

We left the cats in Sandpoint at Grandma Lorna’s cabin so that they weren’t going house to house with us and they were somewhat stable. This is where they spent their 3 weeks:

Then we said goodbye and headed to Seattle

34 Weeks

Week 34

How far along: 34 weeks

Baby’s size: Cantaloupe – Your baby has bulked up like the average cantaloupe — to about 4.75 pounds. Length: almost 18 inches, head to heel

Sleep: I am still tossing and turning all night. It is getting harder to do that so I am ready to finish up the traveling and stay in my own bed for more than a few days.

Maternity Clothes: Yup. Almost down to just dresses fitting.

Food Cravings: None specifically.

Food Aversions: still spicy stuff, but that is about it. Got offered Beef heart stew and just couldn’t try it because I am not a fan of organ meat even when not pregnant.

Symptoms I have: Sore right hip, a very noticeable waddle, hungry all the time.

Doctor’s Appointment: Ultrasound today!!

Movement: Yup. He is definitely a mover. When I am sitting down other people can see him move a bunch.

Belly Button: Hasn’t moved since last week.

Gender: Boy!

What I’m looking forward to: Finishing getting the nursery ready and getting prepped for baby boy to come home.

What I miss: Being able to move stuff on my own without help. Unpacking would be so much easier if I didn’t need Darrell to move the boxes around for me.

33 Weeks

This is posted a little late as we have been busy moving in and we haven’t had a decent internet connection.

Week 33

How far along: 33 weeks

Baby’s size:Ā Ā Pineapple – Your baby is proportioned like a pineapple when it comes to weight — a little over 4 pounds. (Length: more than 17 inches, head to heel)

Sleep: Sleep has been ok. I have been tossing and turning because I can’t sleep and when I wake up I have been having a sore right hip. It makes those first few steps in the morning a little painful but then it goes away.

Maternity Clothes: Definitely. The jeans I bought are starting to get to tight so I am mostly in my stretchy pants.

Food Cravings: I was craving Chocolate chip cookie dough, so I went ahead and got the ice cream to fulfill that since I can’t quite make my own yet.

Food Aversions: Starting to be able to eat some spicy foods but not all the time.

Symptoms I have: Braxton hicks have been hitting me hard. I also lost some of my mucus plug over the weekend and was put on modified bed rest. Basically take it easy so I don’t go into labor. šŸ™‚

Doctor’s Appointment: Glucose Tolerance test tomorrow. Then our first ultrasound up here next Tuesday.

Movement: Edward moves all the time. I can actually see my belly move when he moves now. It is a little alien like.

Belly Button: Almost level.

Gender: Boy.

What I’m looking forward to: Getting the GT test done with and seeing Edward via ultrasound next week.

What I miss: easily putting on my clothes and being able to tie my own shoes.

32 Weeks

Week 32
How far along: 32 weeks
Baby’s size: Jicama – Your baby is taking up more and more space in your uterus and weighs as much as a large jicama — about 3.75 pounds. (Length: about 16.75 inches, head to heel.)
Sleep:Ā I have my ups and downs. Some nights I sleep really well and others I donā€™t sleep well at night but I take naps for hours throughout the day. Some days it takes me back to my first trimester when I was exhausted all the time.
Maternity Clothes:Ā Yep. Some of my shirts are starting to get a little short, so I donā€™t know what I am going to do if my belly grows much more (which is highly likely)
Food Cravings:Ā None this week. I have actually been having a hard time deciding on what to eat.
Food Aversions: Extra spicy. It is starting to get better where I can eat the occasional medium spice, but not yet back to the extent I was beforehand.
Symptoms I have:Ā Having a hard time tying my shoes and putting on socks. I get heartburn occasionally, but Papaya enzymes help with that.
Doctor’s Appointment:Ā Tomorrow afternoon we have our first appointment here in Seattle.
Movement:Ā All the time. I was actually kept up the other night by EJā€™s hiccups. It was a different feeling like a really strong heartbeat from the outside.
Belly Button:Ā The inner part is starting to peak and is slowly becoming level.
Gender: Boy!!
What I’m looking forward to:Ā Hearing EJā€™s heartbeat tomorrow. Moving into our new place and nesting. And finally, EJā€™s birth in about 8 weeks. I am really excited to be this close to the end.
What I miss:Ā All of our stuff. I am so incredibly ready to be settling into a new home and then bringing our kitties home.

31 Weeks

Week 31

How far along: 31 weeks
Baby’s size: 4 Oranges – Your baby now weighs as much as four naval oranges. (Length: over 16 inches, head to heel)
Sleep:Ā Sleep has been fabulous lately! I have been sleeping through the night and only once in the last week have I had to get up for the bathroom.
Maternity Clothes:Ā Definitely. Some of the clothes I have for maternity are getting to small.
Food Cravings:Ā I have been kind of craving Clam Chowder, but I think that is more because we are here in Seattle more than a pregnancy craving.
Food Aversions: Still no spicy. šŸ™ I tried some pepper oil at a pizza place (itā€™s like red pepper flakes but in oil form) and it was too spicy for me. I miss slightly spicy.
Symptoms I have:Ā I cannot bend over to tie my shoes now. I tried yesterday and got them tied, but was squished and out of breath after every shoe.
Doctor’s Appointment:Ā 4/10 – first appointment with Seattle Midwife.
Movement:Ā All the time. Sometimes I can see my belly move and sometimes Darrell can feel it.
Belly Button:Ā The upper half is starting to stick out a little bit.
Gender: Boy! Edward Julian
What I’m looking forward to:Ā Nesting and hearing EJā€™s heartbeat next week.
What I miss:Ā Fitting in a restaurant booth. I love boothā€™s and the booth today was too small. I barely fit so no more booths for me.
