2 weeks

2 weeks from now, Darrell and I will be hanging out at my parents house enjoying our vacation with our families. We are so excited and know that this is something that we need. Living so far away makes it hard to see family. We are lucky that we are able to afford to go home and visit for vacation. It will definitely be nice when we move back to within decent driving distance and the ability to go home for a long weekend.

Other than that, we set up the house a little bit for Christmas. We didn’t want to go all out as we are leaving and will probably take it down before we leave. Basically, we only put up the tree :). The cats love it! When we are asleep or not home they love to get into it and since it is a fake tree, they bend the branches, so we know they were in it. But when we are home, they pretend that they want nothing to do with it. Those devils! Our neighbor has said she will watch them while we are gone, and we are hoping they handle the length okay. They seemed fairly irritated at us after the trip to Phoenix when we were gone for 9 days. This time we are going to be gone for 13 days. We shall see how much they tear up the house while we are gone.

We got a little snowstorm on Sunday night/Monday morning. It ended up dropping about 1.5 inches. It has been a really cold week. I think that yesterday was the highest temperature we had all week at 52. We are coming out of the cold front and next week is suppose to get up to the upper 60’s. The best part of this cold front for me has been that the cats have been really cuddly and lovey. They are always curling up as close to me as they can and they want lots of attention.

We sure hope so.

Today, We officially kicked off IUI #3.

We took the long drive to Dallas this morning to get the first ultrasound and get our medication orders for the next few weeks. It was a little confusing at first. There was a new doctor there, but she is just as nice as the rest of the clinic! We are so happy that we actually have an RE office that we don’t feel out of place in.

Plus, there was a mis-communication on which medications they were putting us on. We were originally told that it was going to be Menopur, which we took to mean Menopur and Clomid. Lisa told me that it was going to be Menopur and Clomid when I called in yesterday. Then today, the new doc and then our nurse told us we were on a Menopur only cycle. Bothered us a little bit since if we are on injectables only, the cycle is going to cost us $500 more for ultrasounds etc. Luckily it was straightened out and we are on Menopur and Clomid.

I have my fingers crossed and am hopeful that this cycle will work. Darrell hopes it works, but he is a little bit more pessimistic about it actually working. There is a chance that this could be our last one. We might have to cross the bridge later, but if this cycle doesn’t work, we will probably take a year or so off of trying before coming back to it. Hard decisions, but they need to be made.

I have a good feeling. Things are going to work. Optimism is what I need to hold onto right now.

We have been really busy lately. So much has happened in the last week and a half.

We got the jeep fixed. It ended up being about $320, but we needed it done. Once we get pregnant, we will start looking for a car to replace the jeep. But we are waiting until we have to as our mechanic said that it would give us a few more years after doing a full checkup on it. 🙂

My sister-in-law gave birth to a baby boy on October 20. He is a healthy, big baby named Anders. Momma, Baby, and Daddy are doing great! We are excited to get to see them in December.

Lorna came into Town on thursday and we didn’t end up getting the Futon until Monday as the company accidentally ordered a full instead of a queen. So they had to reorder another one and it didn’t arrive till Monday. At least we ended up getting it though.

I headed down to Houston Friday and Saturday. Spent some quality time with my good friend Sarah. Had a few drinks and enjoyed each others company and catching up. It was a short trip, but full of a lot of fun.

I have been really busy at work. It’s a good thing, but been keeping me really busy. Plus we have been helping Lorna fix up her motorhome. We have gotten really far on it and we are just putting the final touches on the motorhome and getting it ready for her to take home next week.

Last night, we drove to Dallas and enjoyed a small halloween party with the Metroplex Athiest group. We had a lot of fun.

So that is basically our last week or so in a nutshell. We have been busy people, but we feel that we are getting quite a bit done and we are excited to spend the next month home. There are a few things we have planned in December before our big trip to SoCal, but we still have a month until then.

We have been getting around quite a bit lately. I figured I would post some photos to share.

We went to the Fair and survived the first rainstorm since April or so.

We also went to the Big Country Balloonfestival in Abilene on September 23.

They Lit up all the hot air balloons at once. It was pretty neat.

Then we headed on down to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and then Austin for the ACA Bat Cruise and watched the bats come out from under the Congress Bridge. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed that weekend.

We went with Kelly and Carla on the Bat Cruise

Those black cloud like things are all made up of bats that came flying out from under the bridge.

The view of Downtown Austin reflecting on the lake at night.

Currently we are in Phoenix on one of our trips and I have pictures, but I haven’t gotten them on my computer yet, so when I get back next week I will try to put some up.

Oh yeah, and as soon as we left Texas to head to Phoenix, it rained really hard our neighbor told us. So we missed probably the biggest rainstorm of the year. :/

But it was totally worth it to be able to see our niece, friends and family.

This has been a busy month!

I have driven to a lot of football games. I have been incredibly busy at work doing a lot of little things.

This past weekend was the beginning of my month long of busy weekends of traveling. I drove a group up to Lubbock. While I was in Lubbock, my dad called and said that they were going to be in my area and wanted to stop and stay with us. So when I got back yesterday I got to spend time with my dad and uncle. It was so much fun!

This weekend I have to drive back to Lubbock on Friday night. Back home by early Saturday morning and then heading down to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and then Austin for the Bat Cruise. Then it is our trip to Phoenix. My mom is going to travel out to see us and is going to bring the baby. So I will get to see my niece!!!

I’m so excited for this month! But alas, I know that it is going to fly by and it will be over all to soon.

Hope y’all have a wonderful month planned!
