Weekly Updates:

How far along: 22 weeks

Baby’s size: Spaghetti Squash – Your baby has stretched to the size of a spaghetti squash and weighs almost a pound. (Length: nearly 11 inches.)

Sleep: Really good this week. I think I am making up for last week. ๐Ÿ™‚

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Loving the stretchy pants!

Food Cravings: None this week. I had a couple sides at the Burns supper on Saturday that made me crave them a little bit, but I just made sure to eat two servings of them and it helped.

Food Aversions: I still cannot handle spicy. I miss having my chips and salsa, but I am glad that I donโ€™t have the sweet aversion anymore.

Symptoms I have: Heartburn galore! And the never ending acne.

Doctor’s Appointment: MFM tomorrow!; Midwife on 2/4; and OB on 2/12

Movement: Every day at least once a day I get about 5 minutes of kicking and rolling. It is never the same time of day, but I do feel Sprout at least once a day.

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Seeing Sprout tomorrow and making sure everything is still ok.

What I miss: Nothing this week.

21 Weeks

Sorry this post is a few days late. We have been having a hell of a time over here. We finally got the house on the market last Tuesday, just in time for Darrell to get really sick. He has been out of work for more than a week now. He is trying a half day today, so we shall see if that was it. So, it is late, but not too bad overall. ๐Ÿ™‚

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 21 weeks

Baby’s size: Carrot – Your baby, currently the length of a carrot, weighs about 3/4 of a pound. (Head to Heel: 10.5 inches)

Sleep: Sleep has been horrible this last week. Darrell came down with something and is still sick from it, so I have been trying to help him feel better, trying not to catch it (thus far I havenโ€™t), and just overall waking up when he wakes up. Not very conducive to sleeping though.

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Totally loving my stretchy pants I found at Sears for $4. ๐Ÿ™‚

Food Cravings: No cravings this week. I think I have been to tired to actually crave anything.

Food Aversions: Spicy. I still canโ€™t eat things that were mildly spicy for me before pregnancy. Which sucks since I love the chicken curry I make and I canโ€™t eat it. ๐Ÿ™

Symptoms I have: I have been having to pee constantly. Sprout likes to push on the bladder.

Doctor’s Appointment: MFM on 1/30; Midwife on 2/4; and OB on 2/12

Movement: So far only I have been feeling Sprout. On Saturday night, I felt Sprout from the outside, but baby stopped kicking before I could get Darrell to feel. ๐Ÿ™ Hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Darrell feeling Sprout. It is something I have been anxious for since he never got to feel Pixel kick. Sprout is definitely more active than Pixel was, so fingers crossed. I am also looking forward to passing 30 weeks. It is a milestone we have been anxious for, but I know that it doesnโ€™t necessarily mean we are safe. We just keep looking forward to different milestones.

What I miss: Sleep.

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 20 weeks

Baby’s size: Banana – Your baby has grown as big as a banana. (CRL: 6.5โ€ – Head to Heel: 10โ€)

Sleep: Sleep has been good most of this last week. The last couple nights have been rough, but it is because Darrell is coming down with something. Hopefully whatever he has will go away quickly.

Maternity Clothes: Yessir. Most of them are just bigger sizes, but there are a few maternity specific items that a friend gave me.

Food Cravings: Donuts – and since my doctors appointment was this morning, I just stopped and got them this morning! Yeah for Blueberry donuts!

Food Aversions: Nope.

Symptoms I have: Same as last week. Plus I have been feeling Sprout pretty regularly since the new year. At first it was a questionable thing, but this last week has definitely been all baby!

Doctor’s Appointment: MFM on 1/30; Midwife on 2/4; and OB on 2/12

Movement: I have been feeling Sprout at least once a day this whole month. At first it was a questionable thing, but this last week has definitely been all baby!

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender:ย Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Finding a name for Sprout.

What I miss: Not having to watch what I say about baby regarding the gender. Two weeks thus far and haven’t told anyone, so here’s hoping for another 20!

19 Weeks

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 19 weeks

Baby’s size: Heirloom Tomato – Your baby equals a large heirloom tomato in size and weighs 8.5 ounces. (CRL: 6 inches)

Sleep: Turns out the lack of sleep I was getting was due to my anxiety about the ultrasound. Since the ultrasound, I have been sleeping a lot again.

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Went out and bought some jeans a couple sizes bigger that are stretchy denim so hopefully they will fit for a while.

Food Cravings: Donuts. Specifically, Blueberry donuts from AM Donuts. I wanted them on New Years Day and they were closed, so I am still waiting. ๐Ÿ™

Food Aversions: Nope.

Symptoms I have: The acne is still not going away! No matter what I do. Other than that, just really big sore boobs.

Doctor’s Appointment: Midwife appointment on the 14th. OB appointment on the 15th. And since I am slightly high risk, I will be getting an ultrasound every 4 weeks, so we go back to the MFM on the 30th.

Movement: I have been feeling baby about once a day since New Years. It still isnโ€™t regular, but it is getting there.

Belly Button: Innie.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Finding a name for Sprout.

What I miss: I was missing my peppermint schnapps in hot chocolate last night. Good thing I still had some crushed candy cane to mix in it.

So, last Wednesday (1/2) was our ultrasound that is usually the only ultrasound many women get. I was very anxious going into the ultrasound as all I wanted to hear was good news, but I was preparing myself for bad news.

The news was so good I cried during most of the ultrasound. ๐Ÿ™‚

The doctor was very quick at it, and Sprout cooperated enough for him to get all the measurements he needed. It was only about a 10 minute ultrasound, but it was enough to measure everything and for the doctor to inform us that everything looked perfect.

Sprout’s internal organs are all growing like they are suppose to. Sprout’s head is a decent circumference without any added fluid on the brain and all brain matter inside the skull. ๐Ÿ™‚

He was able to see all Sprouts fingers and toes and inform us that thus far, no sign of amniotic bands. That was a big one for us. I am fine if something happened and our baby was missing a few fingers or a limb. It would be challenging, but totally workable. However, the bands can cause fatality (as we have already experienced), so it was very relieving to hear that there were none affecting baby. The doctor even checked the blood flow of the umbilical cord just to double check for us.

Sprout’s heart has all four chambers and they are pumping perfectly.

Doctor measured leg bones and arm bones and then let us know that we have a slightly big baby and there is a chance baby could be born early. According to Baby Center, at 18 weeks, Sprout should have been weighing in at approximately 7 ounces. Our baby weighed in at approximately 9 ounces. The MFM said that if Sprout keeps up at this pace, he wouldn’t be surprised if we delivered early. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am hoping for late May, but am definitely not holding my breath as things can be wrong.

Normally, I put in some ultrasound photos in these posts. Unfortunately, Sprout cooperated enough to get the measurements, but as Sprout was just waking up (started yawning and moving towards the middle of the ultrasound), we didn’t get any good photos this time. There was one that was hard to read, one of the heartbeat, so it didn’t show much, one of the face yawning which is an ok-ish photo, and the last one is of Sprouts profile, but baby turned while the photo was being taken and so it is pretty funny looking. Maybe the next ultrasound will give us better photos.

We are just so happy that it is a healthy baby and we are excited to really start working on names for Sprout. We know we still have a very long 21 weeks to go, but we are excited to be slowly closing in on the end.
