23 Weeks

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 23 weeks

Baby’s size: Mango – Your baby weighs about as much as a large mango — just over a pound. (Length: more than 11 inches) – Granted our baby is weighing in on the slightly bigger and longer as per our u/s last week.

Sleep: Itโ€™s been consistent this week which is nice.

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Loving the stretchy pants!

Food Cravings: I have been smelling cake batter everywhere I go. I donโ€™t want the cake, just the batter. Iโ€™m working on trying to avoid eating a bunch of sweets though.

Food Aversions: Still no spicy. ๐Ÿ™

Symptoms I have: My acne has finally started to go away and the heartburn is only occasional.

Doctor’s Appointment: OB on 2/12

Movement: I am starting to feel Sprout a lot more than before. There are kicks and jabs. Baby particularly likes my back.

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Next Tuesday when we reach the Viability milestone. Then after that, our next milestone is 30 weeks. *sigh* takes too damn long.

What I miss: Nada!

* Funny side story – Darrell was talking to people after our ultrasound last week and was telling them it was our 28 week ultrasound when it was our 22 week ultrasound. I felt so bad having to tell him that he was 6 weeks ahead and thus still had 18 weeks to go instead of the 12 he was thinking about. Poor D!

Yay! Healthy, active little Sprout! Our ultrasound today went fabulous. Baby wasn’t as cooperative as last time, but it was more that baby is getting bigger. Sprout is estimated to have gained about 11 oz in the last 4 weeks, so measuring in around 1 lb 4 oz. Sprout also has some long leg bones so doctor thinks baby will be tall.

That’s about it though. No amniotic bands seen, all appendages are there including fingers and toes. Umbilical cord is flowing like it should be and there aren’t any noticeable kinks at this stage. Basically, all good news.

The pictures are about as good as the last ones, but I will post them first, and then I will post the pictures for the last one as well.

I believe this is of baby’s hand, but baby moved while MFM was trying to get the photo. C’est la vie.

So that is that. The MFM said that since everything looked good for now, he was going to see us again in 6 weeks instead of 4, so now we have to wait until March 13th for another ultrasound. We still have a few doctors appointments in between there though, so I won’t get to anxious.

Another upside of the delay is that we will have the ultrasound at 28w1d, which is less than 2 weeks before we lost Pixel. I know that it will be a rough time in general for us, but right now, Darrell and I are feeling very, very optimistic that everything is going great and now all we have to do is finish cooking and pop this sucker out and we will be bringing home our baby. ๐Ÿ˜›

I still can’t believe how long this pregnancy is feeling. I keep noticing that I still officially have about 18 weeks left but it feels longer since I have been pregnant for 12 of the last 15 months. I still have 4 more months to go though! *sigh* It’s all worth it right? ๐Ÿ˜›

22 Weeks

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 22 weeks

Baby’s size: Spaghetti Squash – Your baby has stretched to the size of a spaghetti squash and weighs almost a pound. (Length: nearly 11 inches.)

Sleep: Really good this week. I think I am making up for last week. ๐Ÿ™‚

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Loving the stretchy pants!

Food Cravings: None this week. I had a couple sides at the Burns supper on Saturday that made me crave them a little bit, but I just made sure to eat two servings of them and it helped.

Food Aversions: I still cannot handle spicy. I miss having my chips and salsa, but I am glad that I donโ€™t have the sweet aversion anymore.

Symptoms I have: Heartburn galore! And the never ending acne.

Doctor’s Appointment: MFM tomorrow!; Midwife on 2/4; and OB on 2/12

Movement: Every day at least once a day I get about 5 minutes of kicking and rolling. It is never the same time of day, but I do feel Sprout at least once a day.

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Seeing Sprout tomorrow and making sure everything is still ok.

What I miss: Nothing this week.

21 Weeks

Sorry this post is a few days late. We have been having a hell of a time over here. We finally got the house on the market last Tuesday, just in time for Darrell to get really sick. He has been out of work for more than a week now. He is trying a half day today, so we shall see if that was it. So, it is late, but not too bad overall. ๐Ÿ™‚

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 21 weeks

Baby’s size: Carrot – Your baby, currently the length of a carrot, weighs about 3/4 of a pound. (Head to Heel: 10.5 inches)

Sleep: Sleep has been horrible this last week. Darrell came down with something and is still sick from it, so I have been trying to help him feel better, trying not to catch it (thus far I havenโ€™t), and just overall waking up when he wakes up. Not very conducive to sleeping though.

Maternity Clothes: Yep. Totally loving my stretchy pants I found at Sears for $4. ๐Ÿ™‚

Food Cravings: No cravings this week. I think I have been to tired to actually crave anything.

Food Aversions: Spicy. I still canโ€™t eat things that were mildly spicy for me before pregnancy. Which sucks since I love the chicken curry I make and I canโ€™t eat it. ๐Ÿ™

Symptoms I have: I have been having to pee constantly. Sprout likes to push on the bladder.

Doctor’s Appointment: MFM on 1/30; Midwife on 2/4; and OB on 2/12

Movement: So far only I have been feeling Sprout. On Saturday night, I felt Sprout from the outside, but baby stopped kicking before I could get Darrell to feel. ๐Ÿ™ Hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender: Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Darrell feeling Sprout. It is something I have been anxious for since he never got to feel Pixel kick. Sprout is definitely more active than Pixel was, so fingers crossed. I am also looking forward to passing 30 weeks. It is a milestone we have been anxious for, but I know that it doesnโ€™t necessarily mean we are safe. We just keep looking forward to different milestones.

What I miss: Sleep.

Weekly Updates:

How far along: 20 weeks

Baby’s size: Banana – Your baby has grown as big as a banana. (CRL: 6.5โ€ – Head to Heel: 10โ€)

Sleep: Sleep has been good most of this last week. The last couple nights have been rough, but it is because Darrell is coming down with something. Hopefully whatever he has will go away quickly.

Maternity Clothes: Yessir. Most of them are just bigger sizes, but there are a few maternity specific items that a friend gave me.

Food Cravings: Donuts – and since my doctors appointment was this morning, I just stopped and got them this morning! Yeah for Blueberry donuts!

Food Aversions: Nope.

Symptoms I have: Same as last week. Plus I have been feeling Sprout pretty regularly since the new year. At first it was a questionable thing, but this last week has definitely been all baby!

Doctor’s Appointment: MFM on 1/30; Midwife on 2/4; and OB on 2/12

Movement: I have been feeling Sprout at least once a day this whole month. At first it was a questionable thing, but this last week has definitely been all baby!

Belly Button: Innie. But it is definitely starting to move to a more level position.

Gender:ย Team Yellow!

What I’m looking forward to: Finding a name for Sprout.

What I miss: Not having to watch what I say about baby regarding the gender. Two weeks thus far and haven’t told anyone, so here’s hoping for another 20!
