Week 2 & 3

Sorry I hadn’t updated in a few weeks. We were enjoying our time with Edward while Darrell had time off of work. He went back to work yesterday, so here I am updating what we have been up to. (Mostly just staring at our child whether he is awake or asleep :P). Here are some pictures of what we have been up to for the last two weeks.

This is what happens when you forget to point little boys’ penis’ down. Pee comes out of the diaper and you have to clean your whole bed

We finally got our stroller:

The cats are still getting use to Edward. Poleeko hides upstairs under the crib most days and Zedd just stays clear. But they both like getting attention and treats from us.

Occasionally they will get close to the babe and as long as he is sleeping and not moving they are fine. One movement and they are gone.

For our first big outing that wasn’t to a doctors appointment or the grocery store, we went down to the Fremont fair and Solstice parade. We all had a blast and enjoyed listening to the many different marching bands. It was a long 6 hour day for us, but it was fun.

So, I posted a while ago about our trip from Texas to Seattle here. These are some photos to go along with that post. 🙂

Day 1 – March 22 – Stayed in Abilene, TX after not getting enough sleep to hit the road safely.

Both cats were unsure of what exactly was going on. Poleeko stayed under the blankets the whole first night and Zedd came out, but needed to be near someone at all times. Darrell got to cuddle with him. 🙂

Day 2 – March 23 – Drove from Abilene, TX to Farmington, NM

The cats weren’t sure about having to stay in their carrier, but they weren’t yowling which was great. We found out that if we left them uncovered, they would yowl, so we took our blanket and covered the cage only looking in occasionally to make sure they were ok.

Duststorm

On the left is the duststorms we had to drive through from just West of Lubbock all the way through Monroe, NM. After Monroe, the dust wasn’t all around, but the wind was still at a hefty speed which made us have to take it slow. On the right is Zedd needing more cuddles after a 12 hour drive in his carrier. I think he just wanted to make sure he was still loved. 🙂

Day 3 – March 24 – Drove from Farmington, NM to Idaho Falls, ID

All we took were a bunch of scenic photos. We drove through a section of Colorado, then crossed through Utah stopping to have dinner with my sister and her boyfriend in Orem, UT and ended up in Idaho for the night. The first photo is of Darrell trying to find Poleeko who crawled under the bed.

Day 4 – March 25 – Idaho Falls, ID to Sandpoint, ID

Today we had our first frost on the window when we left the hotel. Because of the way Idaho is shaped, we crossed into Montana and then back into Idaho. It was our shortest trip at only about 9 hours of driving.

We left the cats in Sandpoint at Grandma Lorna’s cabin so that they weren’t going house to house with us and they were somewhat stable. This is where they spent their 3 weeks:

Then we said goodbye and headed to Seattle

Our neighbor (also our real estate agent) was kind enough to throw us a baby shower/going away party. We invited almost everyone we knew here in town and many came out for a few minutes or longer. It was nice having a flow of people most of the day. We are really going to miss everyone here and are thankful that we got to know many of them (even though it was only a short time). We got some nice stuff for Sprout from everyone even though many of them gave us a bunch of their hand-me-downs. Once again, we were so busy having fun, we forgot to take pictures. We gave Charlene’s little girl the camera, so we have a lot of shots from a 3-year-old’s perspective. 🙂

We had a blast and it was a nice ending weekend to our time in Abilene. Definitely different than the first weekend we were here. 🙂

Yay! Healthy, active little Sprout! Our ultrasound today went fabulous. Baby wasn’t as cooperative as last time, but it was more that baby is getting bigger. Sprout is estimated to have gained about 11 oz in the last 4 weeks, so measuring in around 1 lb 4 oz. Sprout also has some long leg bones so doctor thinks baby will be tall.

That’s about it though. No amniotic bands seen, all appendages are there including fingers and toes. Umbilical cord is flowing like it should be and there aren’t any noticeable kinks at this stage. Basically, all good news.

The pictures are about as good as the last ones, but I will post them first, and then I will post the pictures for the last one as well.

I believe this is of baby’s hand, but baby moved while MFM was trying to get the photo. C’est la vie.

So that is that. The MFM said that since everything looked good for now, he was going to see us again in 6 weeks instead of 4, so now we have to wait until March 13th for another ultrasound. We still have a few doctors appointments in between there though, so I won’t get to anxious.

Another upside of the delay is that we will have the ultrasound at 28w1d, which is less than 2 weeks before we lost Pixel. I know that it will be a rough time in general for us, but right now, Darrell and I are feeling very, very optimistic that everything is going great and now all we have to do is finish cooking and pop this sucker out and we will be bringing home our baby. 😛

I still can’t believe how long this pregnancy is feeling. I keep noticing that I still officially have about 18 weeks left but it feels longer since I have been pregnant for 12 of the last 15 months. I still have 4 more months to go though! *sigh* It’s all worth it right? 😛
