Category: Visits

After the family reunion, my mom and Hazel made their first visit up to Seattle to spend some time with us. It was a short visit, but Edward loved that he got to hang out with Cousin Hazel and show her his park. There were some issues with having to share his toys, and she having to share her Grandma, but all in all, it was fun. Hazel got to explore our garden and Edward showed her how to eat many of the vegetables straight off the plant.

We also got some bath paints from Jenni & Chad when they were up and Edward and Hazel had a blast playing with them in the tub:

We wish it was longer and that we could have done more, but just a few days relaxing at home were nice.

Last weekend, we headed on down to Pheasant Rock for the Werdeman Family Reunion and Uncle Kenny’s Retirement Party. It was so much fun to see all the faces I hadn’t seen in forever. The last family reunion I went to was in 2007 and then I also saw a bunch of folks at Grandad’s Memorial which was back in August 2009. Either way, that was almost 6 years ago. I had seen many faces in between at different weddings and family functions, but not everyone. There were so many of the kids there that we now have pictures of the next generation coming through.

That last picture was of Edward running trying to catch up to the older cousins. He was so excited to be able to follow them.

Also, since it was Kenny’s Retirement, everytime we would visit him up here, he always had dum dums and gave one to Edward. So we made him a dum dum tree. It took a little bit of time and almost 700 dum dums, but I think they turned out fabulous!

After we got back home from the Enumclaw Highland Games, Aunt Jenni & Uncle Chad came by to visit. It was great fun with them. We went to the Aquarium, the zoo, and just had a grand ol’ time. It was a lot of fun and Edward had a great time getting one on one time with them.

We first went to The Macaroni Grill where Edward helped Momma cut his spaghetti and meatballs.

After the Aquarium, we walked around downtown. We walked along the boardwalk and then through Pike Place Market. We also headed down to the Gum Wall which was a first for all of us.

Then, they stayed with some friends in Seattle for a few days before coming back. We headed down to the zoo the day before we left for the Family reunion in Oregon.

A lot of the animals were out which was a lot of fun for Edward. We are looking forward to when they come to visit again.

Vancouver

After the 4th of July, we headed north to Vancouver to celebrate Darrell’s Grandad’s Birthday. It was a last minute trip, but was super fun. We got to see a bunch of family we haven’t seen in quite a few years.

While we were in Vancouver, we headed down to Stanley Park and went to the Vancouver Aquarium. It was Edward’s first time at an Aquarium and he absolutely loved it! He was a little frazzled with us since we were trying to keep up with everyone else and only had a couple hours to do it, so we kept pushing him along. We didn’t even get to see everything. We have talked about taking him back there again when we have more time to do things.
