Swerve Robotics was a part of the Drive Electric Week program and they took some Drive-a-Bots down to Issaquah. Darrell and I decided to go ahead and take Edward on down there to see what’s up and to play around. It was a lot of fun and Edward loved playing with the robots.

First up: Stopping by the Drive-a-Bot tent.

Then, we wandered around seeing what else was around. There was a bright red tent that Darrell gravitated towards like a moth to a light. 🙂

After wandering around, we headed back to the Drive-a-Bot and Edward got some drive time in.

It was about lunchtime, so since we were already at a quaint diner, we decided to give it a shot. It was yummy, but wow was it a lot.

After lunch, we went back for some more driving:

And Edward even helped me take some photos: (I can’t share them since many of them were of the Swerve students and I don’t have permission to share)

For an early Father’s Day, Edward and I got Darrell a bike trailer so we could go biking as a family. We decided to give it a try at the Fremont Solstice Fair. We parked at University of Washington and then just biked the Burke Gilman trail over to Fremont. Then we hung out at Gas Works Park for the rest of the day for HonkFest. It was a great day! Edward liked his trailer and we enjoyed spending time as a family.

And while we were there, we found a Toaster car even with a trailer of butter.

We do Monday morning walks with the mom’s group. Since Lorna was in town, we did the Scriber Creek Walk which turned out to be a really nice walk. We really liked it. Edward loved sitting on the dock and watching all of the ducks.

UW

Since Darrell has been at school, he spends a lot of time on the University of Washington’s campus. Whether it is going to class, one of his many IEEE meetings or anything else school related. We have had a lot of really pretty days this month, so he has gotten some nice shots of campus with Mount Rainier in the background.

But just so that we don’t feel like we really want to be there and experience this beautiful sight on a weekly basis, this is what just a small portion of his homework looks like:

Botanical Gardens

We took a small family trip up to Everett and visited the Botanical Gardens and then hung out at the park. It was a really nice little garden. I loved walking around and Edward enjoyed all of the water features and running around the grass area.
