I finally got all of our pictures on the computer. Then I realized that we actually didn’t take that many photos. I guess that means that we had fun right? 🙂

Here are the pictures of Pixel. The one on the left is of Pixel, the one of the right is of Pixel’s heartbeat.

We headed up to Malibu on December 27 so Darrell could go surfing with Tom

We then went to see Anders, our nephew:

And that was pretty much it for vacation. We mainly just sat around hanging out. We saw a lot of other people, but like I said in the beginning, we were having to much fun actually hanging out that we forgot to take pictures.

Sorry it has been awhile since posting. we have been busy. We headed to California for the holidays and spent a lot of time visiting family. We had fun.

As many of you knew before we left, we have a bun on board. Our doctors appointment and first ultrasound was right before we flew to California. We were told that we were having twins. Baby A, who we are calling Bit, was measuring 6 weeks 3 days. Baby B, who we are calling Pixel, was measuring 6 weeks 5 days with a beautiful heartbeat. We were still on notice about Bit as there was no heartbeat. We told everyone we saw about them as we were excited.

When we returned back to Texas yesterday, we had a follow-up appointment to check for Bit’s heartbeat and make sure the babies were growing properly. Pixel is doing great and is right on schedule measuring 8 weeks 4 days. However, we have lost Bit. It was a little tough, but we are extremely thankful that we still have Pixel who is doing fabulous.

I will try to post pictures when I get them downloaded. Today is just a relaxing day while I recover from the traveling yesterday and the doctor’s news. Hope you all had a Happy New Year!

As many of you have probably figured out by the lack of posts, we did get good news just over two weeks ago. Darrell wanted to wait as there are a lot of problems that can happen in the first trimester. We have done a lot of talking about it, and since we have shared a lot of things, we are sharing this with you. There is still a chance of a miscarriage, so no guarantees that we will not be posting more bad news.

We were going to wait until after the heartbeat to let you know, but as our appointment is at 3 on Thursday and then we are flying out to CA, we will not have a chance to update this. As of right now, all we know is that we have at least one bun in the oven. There is a small chance of twins with the HCG numbers we have been getting. We shall see on Thursday!

We are not posting on Facebook, so please don’t mention it on there. We are going to wait until after the first trimester. We also haven’t told some of our family, so we would appreciate a little bit more silence on the matter.

There won’t be posts for a few weeks probably as we are going to be in California with family until just after the first of the year, so hoping that everyone has a great Holiday Season!

2 weeks

2 weeks from now, Darrell and I will be hanging out at my parents house enjoying our vacation with our families. We are so excited and know that this is something that we need. Living so far away makes it hard to see family. We are lucky that we are able to afford to go home and visit for vacation. It will definitely be nice when we move back to within decent driving distance and the ability to go home for a long weekend.

Other than that, we set up the house a little bit for Christmas. We didn’t want to go all out as we are leaving and will probably take it down before we leave. Basically, we only put up the tree :). The cats love it! When we are asleep or not home they love to get into it and since it is a fake tree, they bend the branches, so we know they were in it. But when we are home, they pretend that they want nothing to do with it. Those devils! Our neighbor has said she will watch them while we are gone, and we are hoping they handle the length okay. They seemed fairly irritated at us after the trip to Phoenix when we were gone for 9 days. This time we are going to be gone for 13 days. We shall see how much they tear up the house while we are gone.

We got a little snowstorm on Sunday night/Monday morning. It ended up dropping about 1.5 inches. It has been a really cold week. I think that yesterday was the highest temperature we had all week at 52. We are coming out of the cold front and next week is suppose to get up to the upper 60’s. The best part of this cold front for me has been that the cats have been really cuddly and lovey. They are always curling up as close to me as they can and they want lots of attention.

I hope everyone is enjoying their respective Thanksgivings. I know we are. We were not able to travel for this Thanksgiving as we are planning on traveling for Christmas. We decided to spend the day at home making our own small(-ish) meal and enjoying each other.

These are the things I am thankful for:

1.) My wonderful, loving, funny, caring, passionate husband.

2.) Our Family & Friends

3.) Our Cats – Zeddicus & Poleeko – who always seem to know when we need a good laugh.

4.) Science and our RE. – They are what make it possible for Darrell and I to do what we can to try to have a baby. Without them, we would be forced to adopt.

5.) I am also Thankful for everyday that I wake up and go to sleep. We might not like it here in Texas specifically, but we force ourselves to succeed so we will someday be able to move back. So I am thankful as each day comes because it means we are one day closer to our goal.

I hope you all have things you are thankful for. I hope that you express your thanks in many ways instead of just on this holiday.
