We had a busy June. We had visits from Grandma and Grammy, we headed to the zoo a few times, Edward got his own library card, we spent a lot of time reading, lots of time at parks, and we had a lot of just family time. Oh yeah, and Morgan started swim lessons! They are just parent and me, but he has been super excited and was always trying to get in the water when it was brother’s turn. He won’t be able to do on his own lessons until he is about 3.

Edward had his last day of Preschool on June 14th. He learned all sorts of things this year and is bounds ahead of where he was last year. I am sooo proud of this boy and love seeing how much he loves reading and doing math. They are definitely his strong points. He is looking forward to next year when he continues at Serene Montessori for his Kindergarten year.

On June 16th, there was a school picnic at a local playground. Edward got to see his best friend, Azylea, and he got to play with all sorts of kids. We got some photos of him with his teachers, Mrs. Judy, Mrs. Laurel, and Mr. Bob.

Edward turned 5 this year! He wanted a zoo theme for his birthday party, so I pulled through for him. The invites:

It ended up being a really nice day, so we had the pool out and had lots of water fun. I made a macaroni & cheese bar for the food. I had a bunch of different toppings so people could add what they wanted to their macaroni. As always, I overdid it and we had a lot of leftovers. Overall, it was really fun and we had a lot of people here. Edward was really pleased with everything and keeps talking about his party.

May 2018

We got Edward a crystal growing kit at the Vancouver Aquarium last August. We misplaced it for a bit and just found it in April. Edward had a blast getting it ready and even though it took a bit for the crystal to grow and he wasn’t a big fan of waiting, he loved seeing the crystal afterwards.

Late April through late June we usually have a bunch of friends’ birthday parties. This May was no different. We had a birthday party every weekend this month. The boys really loved all the activity and especially all the cake and friends.

We also went out to Paine Field for Aviation Day. We missed the first half of the day because we had a birthday party in the morning. We thought there was plenty of time, but by the time we got there, even though there was about 3 hours left, a lot of things were being packed up already. We aren’t sure whether there will be another one next year as Paine Field is opening up for commercial flights. We had fun anyways. Morgan got to run around and Edward and Grammy got to climb up into an airplane and look around.

Other photos from the month of May:

Our local zoo just got some 18 month old Rhino’s. Taj and Glen were born Nov 7 & 8, 2016, so they are about the same age as Morgan. We have been heading to the zoo once a month, but we finally got a chance to do the Rhino encounter on May 25th and the boys got to feed them some bamboo stems. It was really fun as we were at the zoo with our cousins from Texas and with a friend. We love going to the zoo and we try to go once a month.
