We tried to take a trip out to Eastern Washington over Spring Break, but the Flu was really bad out there, so we opted to stay home. We tried again over Memorial Day Weekend and it was a success! We went out to visit some of Darrell’s Family Friends and one of his cousins. It was a relaxing weekend and Darrell enjoyed spending some time out on some property away from the big cities. Darrell’s mom came out and joined us, so the boys got to spend some quality time with her since they hadn’t seen her in almost 6 months. We spent time on High Mountain Farm, in the hotel swimming pool, and visiting Darrell’s cousin, Buck, and his family.
On the way out, we took Highway 2 over through Leavenworth and stopped for lunch and at a couple play areas. On the way back, we came over Highway 20 and stopped at a few different scenic overlooks. At Diablo Lake, a storm caught up to us and before the worst rain hit, it gave us some beautiful shots and a double rainbow. Then we got in the car, drove a bit ahead of the storm and stopped at another rest area with a cool train the kiddos could climb on.
