I can’t believe that Edward is almost 2 years old! These last few months have flown by and Edward is becoming more of a toddler every day. So a few updates:

– He is saying so many new words. Many times, he is just repeating exactly what we say, but he is starting to show that he understands what they mean.

– He has started counting to 5. He doesn’t understand what the numbers mean, just that he can do it.

– He can match family names to faces and (almost) correctly pronounce everyones names.

– He has regressed on potty training. He still tells us when he poops, but now he tells us after he poops and he also uses the word for when he pees or farts. We decided to just let it go for now and wait until he shows more readiness signs.

– He still eats almost anything. Occasionally he will be picky and decide what he wants to eat is not what I have on the table. He also knows what dum-dums, cookies, gummy bears and gummy beans (jelly beans) are. He knows where the cookies are and I have caught him pulling the cookie jar toward himself so he could get a cookie. One time I only caught him when the cookie was half gone already.

– He doesn’t mind getting his legs muddy while splashing in puddles, but as soon as he falls down and gets his hands dirty, he comes running to either Darrell or I to wipe his hands on our pants. I have tried a few different sensory activities, but he won’t have any of them. I even just tried a bubble bath and he wouldn’t get in the bath. 🙁

– We are working on “please” and “thank you”. Edward has the “please” down. His “thank you” needs a little work. He says “thank you please”. 🙂

– He has officially dropped all naps. I am a sad momma. We got to the point where I would try to put him down and he would fight it for over an hour and then only sleep for about half an hour. It wasn’t worth it anymore.

– He does still sleep for 12-14 hours at night still. We actually had a night where he went down around 7 (fell asleep at the table and didn’t wake up through the clean-up, diaper change, or placement in bed) and didn’t wake up until 9:30 the next morning. I didn’t know what to do with myself.

– He is starting to learn the sounds animals make.

There is probably a lot more, but since I am around it all the time, I can’t think of anything else. So, here are some pictures to finish this post off.
