Playtime: Still playing with the normal items. Edward got a lot of wooden toys for christmas, so he is starting to enjoy playing with those. We also got quite a few books so reading will definitely be on our schedule once we get back home.

Sleep: We still haven’t gotten out of the 6 month regression. He won’t go to bed before midnight but now he then sleeps until 11:30-noon. We decided to not push to revert back to his old schedule yet since we did a lot of traveling this month and he is still a happy baby. Once we get back though, we will be starting to push for the old schedule of him going down between 7-9pm. He is down to one nap a day now. It is usually around a 2-2.5 hour nap. When he is in his own crib, he will sleep straight through the night, but with all of the traveling, he is more comfortable in bed with Darrell and I so we keep waking each other up all night. We are waking up anywhere from 3-6 times a night. I am ready for him to be back in his own bed.

Food: His solid foods have gone all over the place! Since we have been traveling and not able to puree things, we have been handing him things off our plates and he is enjoying feeding himself. We realized with the green beans that they were just to cold, so we really have to try to get a right temperature otherwise he doesn’t want anything to do with the food. We also started on giving him some meats and eggs. I didn’t do so well at the homemade meat puree, so we just bought some from the store. We occasionally just give him a little slice of meat for him to chew on.

Teething: Same old, same old. No teeth, but the drool is getting serious! It now goes down his chin and all the way down his outfits. Very tempted to go ahead and put some bibs on him all day, but he isn’t very fond of them.

Clothes: He is still in his 9-month clothes. They are snug, but they aren’t small. He fits nicely in 12-month and even in some 18 month. We are going through his closet again this weekend to pack up the old and bring in the new. Fun, fun!

Movement: Early in the month he figured out how to pull himself up to a standing position, so now that is all that he wants to do. He cannot sit up from lying down, but if you sit him up, he will pull all the way to standing. We really think he is going to skip the crawling first. Just before the new year, he took a couple steps while standing, so it is coming. Not sure if I am ready for that yet, but it won’t slow down. 🙂
